Andrea Rauter
Andrea also discusses her father's role in founding and running the Anglo-Austrian Music Society and about his connections with other émigrés, including Egon Wellesz, Sebastian and Helene Isepp, Peter Stadlen and the members of the Amadeus Quartet.
Biography
Until 1996 Andrea Rauter worked as a teacher in mainstream and special needs education. Whilst teaching she initiated EU wide education projects. From 1996 to 2011 she worked as Music and Special Projects Manager for the Austrian Cultural Forum London where she was project leader for various festivals. She began the platform for contemporary music SOUNDINGS as well as the New Artist Series for young Austrian & UK musicians and set up a partnership between The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Mozarteum Salzburg.
Andrea also began a series of concerts at the Austrian Cultural Forum with students from the vocal faculties of the Royal College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music. In 2012, in collaboration with The Institut Francais & EUNIC, she showcased young composers and artists in a concert at Kings Place. She is now an independent Project Manager, and currently runs the new series for contemporary music Wednesdays at The Forge which she initiated with Philip Cashian and Joe Cutler.
