From one of the richest music-related, collections in the UK and Europe, learn about the earliest stringed keyboard instrument, the most recognised portraits of Joseph Haydn and Farinelli and 56 other fascinating instruments specially chosen from the RCM’s designated collection of 14,000 items.

Enjoy our free weekly guided tour on Wednesdays from 12.30pm - 1.15pm of the RCM Museum led by our knowledgeable museum team. Our passionate guides will share intriguing stories and insights, ensuring that your visit is both informative and enjoyable. Whether you're a music enthusiast or simply curious, this tour promises to enhance your appreciation of our musical heritage.

The RCM Museum offers engaging 45-minute tours designed for groups of up to 16 people. These tours can be tailored to meet the specific interests, age groups, or needs of the visitors, ensuring a personalised experience.
Tickets: up to 8 visitors £40, up to 16 visitors £80

Eligible for Sponsorship: The RCM Museum sponsors private guided tours for UK higher education institutions. If your institution qualifies, please indicate this in your booking form.
Inspire students with an educational visit to our Museum. The programme is tailored for school-age groups from Key Stages 1 to 5 and comprises a guided tour or storytelling journey through the Museum Gallery, showcasing the Museum's permanent collection, allowing participants to explore 500 years of music history.

Eligible for Sponsorship: The RCM Museum sponsors a portion of the educational programme each academic year for eligible local schools. We support schools where the percentage of free school meals exceeds the national average. If your school qualifies, please indicate this in your booking form.
Self-guided groups of up to 20 people are welcome free of charge; however, we kindly ask that you notify us in advance of your visit.
For school-age group visits, please book through our educational programme or a guided tour.

Tuesday–Friday: 10.15am–5.45pm (last entry 5.15pm).
Saturday–Sunday: 11am–6pm (last entry 5.30pm). During the weekend the Museum closes for lunch between 1pm and 2pm.
Closed on Mondays.

Easter Closure: 22 March - 5 April
