Students from outside the UK will normally need a visa to study in the UK. It is important to consider the time and documentation required to obtain an appropriate visa when planning your move to the UK.
You will need to meet all the entry requirements for your course before you can begin the visa application process. If you are applying for your Student visa outside the UK, you can apply up to six months before the start of your course. If you are already resident in the UK and planning to extend your visa here, you can apply up to three months before your course starts.
