Mozart Serenade no 10 for winds in B flat major K 361/370a ‘Gran Partita’
In this student-led event, RCM postgraduate conductors bring their unique interpretations to one of Mozart's most finely-wrought scores: the Gran Partita for winds.
Anyone who has seen Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus will recall Salieri describing the Adagio from Mozart's Gran Partita: 'Filled with such longing... It seemed to me that I was hearing the voice of God.' RCM conductors and members of the Woodwind and Brass faculties aim to channel that divine voice in music ranging from genial conversation to song-like lyricism.
