Andrew Williams
BA, MA, PGCE
Andrew Williams is Head of Aural and Musicianship at the Royal College of Music Junior Department and Teacher of Academic Music at the Purcell School for Young Musicians. He started his teaching career in Liverpool, where he also completed his first degree and PGCE, before relocating to London in 2009. Since then he has taught at both state and independent schools in various positions, including as Head of Music at Nonsuch High School for Girls and as a piano teacher. Andrew has taught musicianship at two of London’s junior conservatoires; for six years at Junior Trinity, where he also delivered aspects of the GCSE and A Level programmes, and more recently at the RCMJD. He is involved in developing and delivering teacher training courses for teachers from across the country.
