Elizabeth Bass

Elizabeth Bass is an international award-winning harpist based in the U.K, with a reputation spanning the breadth of London’s various musical scenes.
Since January 2024 Elizabeth has held the position of Principal Harp with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and prior to this was joint Principal Harp with the the BBC Concert Orchestra. When she isn’t playing with the BBC Elizabeth enjoys playing with various other chamber and symphony orchestras, as well as working as a session harpist at all the major London studios.
As a solo and chamber musician Elizabeth has given recitals for various festivals across the U.K. and was a 2020 winner of Making Music’s Philip and Dorothy Green Award, as well as an Artist on the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme. She bas been invited to perform concerti with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Orchestra of the Swan and others.
In 2016 Elizabeth won 2nd prize at the prestigious USA International Harp Competition and has also been a winner of an international Lyon&Healy Award(2013) and the Camac Harp Competition (2014). Elizabeth graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2017 with a First Class Honours Degree having studied with Skaila Kanga, and later studied for a year at the Conservatoire Nationale Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the world famous harp class of Isabelle Moretti. She has also studied privately with internationally renowned teachers,Sivan Magen and Eleanor Turner.
Elizabeth was made an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in 2023.
