Launched in May 2021, the Global Conservatoire is a unique international partnership that offers RCM students online transnational learning experiences with one of five leading international conservatoires. The consortium brings together faculty and students from the Royal College of Music, the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA), the Manhattan School of Music (MSM), the Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM), and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW).
The Global Conservatoire catalogue of modules is designed to offer students access to distinctive courses that prepare 21st century performers-in-training for a global and digital future.
Students from the RCM and the four partner conservatoires can choose from a diverse range of subjects and work at their own pace, even across three different time zones. Students learn in a global online classroom, giving them the opportunity to develop their international networks with students from other conservatoires, without having to leave their home institutions.
The catalogue of Global Conservatoire modules is complemented by a range of performance projects, including distance masterclasses between the five institutions.
