Jeffrey Stewart
AGSM

Jeff Stewart studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama before completing his training at the National Opera Studio. His operatic career has taken him across Europe, performing more than sixty major roles from Monteverdi to Wagner. His repertoire includes much of the core Italian canon, key French roles, leading parts in Britten, and several contemporary works. He has appeared with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, English National Opera, Opera North, English Touring Opera, Opera Holland Park and Opera Northern Ireland. Abroad, he has sung extensively across Europe, notably as a regular principal at the Komische Oper Berlin, alongside resident contracts in other German houses.
Equally active as a choral director, Jeff leads a number of ensembles and is in demand for workshops and choral projects both in the UK and internationally. His work as a conductor and educator is complemented by a strong commitment to vocal training, and he has given masterclasses in five Chinese cities, as well as in Macedonia and the UK.
A versatile concert artist, Jeff has performed the majority of the major oratorio repertoire, with engagements in China, South Africa and the USA. In addition to a thriving private teaching practice, he has been a member of the Royal College of Music vocal faculty since 2004.
