Headshot for John Hutchinson

Beginning his musical journey in Northumberland, John Hutchinson represents the youngest member of a family spanning three generations of musicians. Inspired by his parents and the teaching he has received; John has become a highly sought after teacher. John’s teaching philosophy is built on a deep commitment to helping each student realise their full potential. His teaching focuses on developing a strong technical foundation to bring out the inner musician and help pupils find their voice through music.

Currently, John teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, Westminster School, Godolphin & Latymer School, Wimbledon High School for Girls, and he has private studio in London. In addition to these roles, John is also a mentor for Music Masters and a violin teacher for the Amber Trust, a charity which provides musical opportunities for blind and partially sighted children.

Past students have gone on to receive places in the National Children’s Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra, Junior Conservatoires and ProCorda as well as Cambridge University and top UK Conservatoires. Many students have also gone on to receive scholarships to London’s top private schools, and to perform as soloists at the Royal Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, Sinfonia Smith Square and Opera Holland Park.
